Delete your account
This page explains how to permanently delete your Guitar Mentor account and the data associated with it, including for people who have already uninstalled the app.

1. How to request deletion
There are two ways to delete your account. Both result in the same deletion described below.
In the app: Delete it yourself, instantly
Open Guitar Mentor and go to Profile → Delete Account (the same row also appears under Profile → About → Delete Account), then press and hold to confirm.
This immediately and permanently deletes your account and its personal data — no waiting period, no extra steps. Shared recordings are handled as described below.
By email: If you've uninstalled or can't open the app
Email us from your account's registered email address with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
We verify that the request comes from the account owner's registered email, then action it within 7 days. We may reply to confirm before deleting.
2. What is deleted and what is kept
Permanently deleted
- Account & sign-in identifiers — your email and account ID (Firebase Authentication).
- Practice data — practice history, streaks, skill stats, setlists, and annotations (Firestore).
- Your account's files — files stored under your account, such as exports, and the record of which songs your account imported (Cloudflare R2 and Firestore).
- On this device — Guitar Mentor's data on the phone you delete from, including imported audio saved on it.
Kept, without your account attached
- Shared recordings — audio you imported, and the stems, chord and lyric analysis and MIDI generated from it. These are stored once per recording under an anonymous content fingerprint, so everyone who imports the same recording shares one copy. Other people may be using them, so they are not deleted with your account; your account's link to them is removed, and they carry no name, email or account identifier. To ask us to remove a recording you uploaded, email admin@plugai.in. Automatic deletion of recordings that no other account uses is being built.
Retained for a limited time
- Subscription & transaction records — kept only where required for tax/GST, accounting, or fraud prevention, for the legally required period.
- Backups — residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days of deletion.
Deletion is permanent. We do not offer account deactivation, freezing, or pausing. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered, and a new account starts fresh.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel that separately in your store's subscription settings.
